چکیده

The foam sclerotherapy is a popular and highly effective method of varicose disease treatment allowing to obtain a positive result in more than 80% of cases. The foams characteristics depend on the kind of sclerosant, its concentration, a type of gas, gas/liquid ratio, and the technique of foam preparation. The present investigation, was carried out to assess the influence of temperature on the rheological characteristics of the foam prepared from an aqueous solution of a sclerosant (polidocanol) in conditions of continuous shear deformation. The dependence of the viscosity of the foam on the shear rate was investigated in the specified temperature range 10–25°С and in the specified shear range γ = 3.75–82.5 s-1 by the Brookfield LVDV-III Ultra CP viscometer connected to a Brookfield TC-102 Circulating Bath with Digital Controller. The viscosity of the foam prepared from a polidocanol solution of investigated concentrations (1%, 3%) increases on temperature decrease and concentration increase in the investigated ranges of temperatures and shear velocities, varying within 0.028–0.165 Pa·s. Key-Words: sclerosant, foam, polidocanol, concentration, viscosity, rheological characteristics, temperature.

Rheological and Physicochemical Properties of Honeys as a Function of Temperature, Concentration and Moisture Content

In this study the rheological and physicochemical properties of four types of honeys, two poly floral (Mountain, Forest) and two mono floral (Sunflower, Ivy), were investigated. Rheological characteristics of honeys were evaluated at different temperatures (10, 15, 20, 25 and 30ºC). All the honeys exhibited Newtonian behavior for shear rate in the range of 1.045-41.8 s-1. The viscosity of sampl...

Effect of Reclaimed rubber Modification on the Rheological Properties and Rutting Resistance of Asphalt Binders

In this paper, the effect of reclaimed rubber modification on the rheological characteristics of asphalt binders is studied. Reclaimed rubber with the extent of 12, 16 and 20 is added to the neat asphalt binder and then shear complex modulus is obtained for neat and modified asphalt binder via Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR) test. Using Christensen-Anderson- Marasteanu (CAM) model, master curves ...

Third Order Formulation for Vibrating Non-Homogeneous Cylindrical Shells in Elastic Medium

Third order shear deformation theory of cylindrical shells is employed to investigate the vibration characteristics of non-homogeneous cylindrical shells surrounded by an elastic medium. The kinematic relations are obtained using the strain-displacement relations of Donnell shell theory. The shell properties are considered to be dependent on both position and thermal environment. A suitable fun...

Surface Modification of Carbon Nanotubes as a Key Factor on Rheological Characteristics of Water-Based Drilling Muds

This study investigates the effect of functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon NanoTube (f-MWCNT) on rheological properties of water-based drilling muds. Functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotube was performed by introducing a hydrophilic functional group onto the surface of nanotubes via acid treatment. In order to guarantee the results, X-ray fluorescence, transmission...

Vibration analysis of functionally graded cylindrical shells with different boundary conditions subjected to thermal loads

In the present work, study of the vibration of a functionally graded (FG) cylindrical shell made up of stainless steel, zirconia, and nickel is presented. Free vibration analysis is presented for FG cylindrical shells with simply supported-simply supported and clamped–clamped boundary condition based on temperature independent material properties. The equations of motion are derived by Hamilton...
